Russian learning path · Step 1
Learn Cyrillic
Cyrillic is not a wall. It is an alphabet. Once you identify the letters and sounds, Russian becomes readable much more quickly.
Fast method
- 1
Draw every letter once
Look at the shape, say the sound, and draw the letter slowly.
- 2
Draw every letter a second time
Repeat immediately. The second pass helps your hand and eyes remember.
- 3
Write 7 of each letter daily
For 3 or 4 days, write one short line of each letter: 7 times per letter.
- 4
Play the alphabet game every day
Use the game to measure progress. The goal is automatic recognition.
- 5
Read and listen early
Look at vocabulary and sentences while learning the letters. Real words make the alphabet useful.
This should be quick. After a few days, the goal is to stop thinking “this is Cyrillic” and start recognizing familiar Russian words directly.
